May 27, 2019: A presentation from Kayam Khalfan reporting on his "Adventures in Citizenship". webpage

Don Campbell next spoke of the Rotary Adventures in Citizenship program. It is a project of the Rotary Club of Ottawa, which takes 200 exceptional students annually and gives them an experience of how the government works, among other things.

Don introduced Kayam Khalfan, a Western Canada High School student, as the club’s sponsored delegate this year.

Kayam gave us an overview of his experiences at this year's event, including what it felt like to sit in the MPs' seats in the House of Commons just before the MPs entered to conduct the affairs of government for that day. Kayam had an experience of the vastness and diversity of Canada, and said that the world should be like Canada! He also said he felt that the country was more unified and connected than we can imagine.

Kayam expressed his thanks to the club and to his parents, and concluded to much applause.
