May 28/18: Councillors Khalid Keshavjee and Alisha Kurji Presentation

Emily described her five-day "Adventures in Citizenship" trip to Ottawa. There were 200 students from across Canada.

  • There were 84 delegates from 32 clubs, five of which came from Calgary West, held at Chestermere Lake over four days in May.
  • It focused on leadership and fellowship, participants working together to make good things happen.
  • There was a "sneak a peek" on Thursday evening, joined by 30 Rotarians, in teams, challenged to put a puzzle together. Doherty's team won.
  • The students benefitted by developing confidence, courage, ability to speak one's mind.
  • They were asked to write a letter to themselves to be opened in the future.
  • All "run" by junior and senior councillors.
