Ken Lima-Coelho is a graduate of the University of Calgary and the University of King’s College and will complete a tenure as the Vice President, Community Engagement for YMCA Calgary to take on this exciting leadership role. Prior to the YMCA, he held increasingly senior positions at CBC Calgary and the Glenbow Museum.

“I am incredibly excited for this opportunity” says Lima-Coelho. “I look forward to leading the talented BBBS team who strive each day to make a lasting impact on children and youth facing adversity through the power of mentorship. There is an exciting and impactful future ahead for BBBS, an agency that has been supporting our youth in Calgary and Area for over 40 years.”

Lima-Coelho’s volunteer record is as impressive as his career. He is currently a board director with The Calgary Foundation, a member of the Foundation’s Grants Committee and a board director with cSPACE Projects, including chairing its Engagement Committee. His commitment to the community was recognized when he received The Calgary Award for Community Advocate in 2020.

Lima-Coelho is also a founding member of Calgary’s own well-known comedy a cappella group, The Heebee-Jeebees, a husband and father of two awesome teenagers.
