The Rotary Club of Calgary West has approved funding to build another home in Cambodia, continuing its commitment to international service and sustainable community impact.
Through a $6,900 CAD grant to Bracelets4Buildings / Carpenters4Cambodia, the project will construct one safe, permanent home for a family in need in Siem Reap.
The initiative not only provides housing but also strengthens the local economy by:
Hiring and training Cambodian foremen and labourers
Purchasing materials locally
Keeping income within the community
Construction is expected to begin in the coming months. Updates, including photos of the build and the key-turnover celebration, will be shared once underway.
This project reflects Rotary’s commitment to measurable, transparent impact — building dignity, security, and opportunity one house at a time.
Because of the generosity and commitment of our members, the Rotary Club of Calgary West is proud to announce that we are funding the construction of another home in Cambodia.
Through our International Service Committee, the Club has approved a $6,900 CAD grant to Bracelets4Buildings / Carpenters4Cambodia to build a home for a very needy family in Siem Reap.
This partnership is part of the B4B Housing Initiative — a program that doesn’t just build houses, but builds opportunity. Local Cambodian foremen and crews are hired and trained, materials are purchased locally, and income stays within the community — creating a powerful economic ripple effect. With more than 100 homes already built through this initiative, the impact continues to grow one family at a time.

Club member Ross Mayer shared:
“Yes – Calgary West Rotary Club paid for this donation to build another house in Cambodia. I will speak to the principals of B4B and confirm when this house build will be scheduled in the upcoming months. Once construction starts I will be forwarding pictures of the construction process and the celebration where the contract will be signed by the recipient and keys turned over.
Again, I thank our club for supporting this project and providing a house to a very needy family that they would never have been able to afford.”
The grant ensures that funds are used exclusively for materials, local supplies, and local labour to construct one safe, secure home. Upon completion, we will receive photos and a financial report confirming the impact of your generosity.
A home means safety.
A home means dignity.
A home means opportunity.
Thank you to every member of the Rotary Club of Calgary West for continuing to make a meaningful difference — not just locally, but around the world.

We look forward to sharing construction updates and the key-turnover celebration in the months ahead.
