Paul Harris Fellowship Presentations

August 28, 2017: Gail Williams pinned Don Axford with a Paul Harris plus 2. This was Don's goal to celebrate his 80th birthday. Next goal is Paul Harris plus 3 on this 100th!! Congrats, Don. Saadat Keshavjee also thanked Don for his contributions and know that this funding goes to building the Foundation.

August 14, 2017: ADG John Fortunka presented welcome 100 Paul Harris Award points to both Julie Cahoon [pictured below] and Linda Haines as a starting gift and hoped they will continue building a fund towards becoming sustaining Paul Harris fellows.

July 24, 2017: Saadat Keshavjee had the privilege and honour of presenting Tracey Bitcon with a Paul Harris Fellow pin. The donations sent to the Rotary Foundation make the world a better place.

July 10, 2017: Mike Carlin recognized the work of Ben and Bonnie, our band team, who have served us diligently for over ten years. They received the Paul Harris Fellow award from our club in recognition of their work with us and in commemoration of our jubilee year.

June 19, 2017: Bill Quinney took to the podium to acknowledge the significant contributions over the years of Clarence and Evelyn Buckley. Clarence has been a Rotary member for 49 years and a past president of the club. One of the notable achievements of Clarence's term was the initiation of the Stampede Breakfast fundraiser.

Clarence and Evelyn throughout their long association with Rotary have been devoted to giving back with their time, talents and treasure. In recognition of this dedication, both Clarence and Evelyn were awarded second level major donor awards by Bill Quinney on behalf of Rotary International.

Clarence and Evelyn also wished to honour their eight grandchildren with Paul Harris fellowships made in their names. Seven of the eight grandchildren were at the meeting to receive their pins and were introduced in turn. The Buckley's will also be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary shortly.

President Terry Felton announced the award of additional Paul Harris fellowships: Bill Quinney presented Gail Williams with her PH+4 award, Larry Doyle with his PH+5 pin and Chris Davis with his PH+6. Additionally, major donor level 2 pins were awarded to Marlene and Dan Doherty, and a major donor level 1 pin was presented to Duncan Stanners.

November 4, 2016: Dan and Marlene Doherty presented TWO Paul Harris Fellowship Awards to their long-time friends and strong supporters of the Homes of Hope project in Mexico and many other charitable endeavours, including the Calgary Dream Centre, Business Fore Calgary Kids and All Access Ministries, to name a few.

August 19, 2016: Des DeFreitas presented Jane Beveridge, and in memoriam Stan, with a Paul Harris Award from good friends Frank and Jean Proto of West Kelowna, where Frank is a Rotarian. Jane then called their three children to the podium presenting each with a Paul Harris Fellowship Award. This was a total surprise for the children. Jane gave a heartfelt thank you to the club for everything.

July 22, 2016: Duncan Stanners expressed his thanks to all for the caring support they have provided to him and his family over the past many months. In particular, he described how Marlene Doherty had, every Wednesday, left a home-cooked family meal at their door. In appreciation for such kindness, Duncan rewarded her with a Paul Harris Fellow (X5 for Marlene).

Nov 27, 2015: A special club presentation was made to Janna Anderson of Opportunity International Canada, our partner in the Honduras Microcredit and water projects. Duncan Stanners made the presentation on behalf of our club and highlighted the many wonderful traits of an outstanding individual. Janna most graciously accepted the award on behalf of all those involved in the project.
