On the warm summer evening of Thursday, July 3, 2025, members and friends of the Rotary Club of Calgary West came together in downtown Calgary to prepare for one of the Club’s most cherished traditions — the annual Calgary Stampede Parade Breakfast and Seating event. From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., a dedicated crew of Rotarians and friends rolled up their sleeves to set the stage for welcoming hundreds of parade-goers the next morning.

The team, which included Don Beavis, Chris Beck, Gord Cox, Des DeFreitas, David Impey, Rod McMahon, Steve Strang, Drew Turnbull, Joanne Yacyna, and Craig Yanke, worked efficiently and collaboratively to ensure everything was ready for the big day. Tasks included organizing the seating layout, setting up signage, and preparing the breakfast area. The bleacher seats were freshly pressure washed by “Seating U,” the club’s trusted seating supplier, giving the area a polished and welcoming appearance.

Their shared effort, camaraderie, and pride in community service were clearly on display as they transformed the downtown space into a festive, family-friendly venue — ready to host a sea of guests eager to celebrate Stampede in true Rotary spirit.
