Calgary West Rotarians Give Back Through Community Kitchen
Rotary is about putting service into action, and Calgary West members Don Beavis and Chris Beck are doing just that through their volunteer work with the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary (CKP).
By giving their time to support CKP, Don and Chris are helping an organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity and providing food-related support to people in our community. Their involvement is a great example of how Rotary members can make a difference through hands-on service, working alongside other community volunteers to help meet local needs.
An Invitation to Get Involved
There are also opportunities for more Calgary West members to join in. Through a request shared by Gary Webster of the Rotary Club of Calgary Centennial, CKP is seeking volunteers for two upcoming shifts:
- Tuesday, January 19, 2027 | 1:00–4:00 p.m. — 22–26 volunteers needed to work on the assembly line.
- Monday, March 1, 2027 | 5:00–8:00 p.m. — 18–22 volunteers needed to bag produce.
Both shifts will take place at 3751 21 Street NE, Calgary.
Members who are available and interested in helping are encouraged to contact Gary Webster directly, identify themselves as volunteers with the Rotary Club of Calgary West, and copy Chris Ritter on their reply.
Thank you to Don and Chris for demonstrating the spirit of Rotary through their community service. If you can spare a few hours, consider joining them in supporting the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary.
