🏇❄️ Skijoring Fun at Millarville – Rotary Club Adventures
On Saturday, February 7, a group of our Rotary Club members and their spouses headed out to the Millarville Skijor Showdown — a thrilling celebration of winter sport and western flair at the Millarville Racetrack. Sponsored as the kickoff event for Skijor Alberta, the Showdown brought high-speed action and community spirit back to the Foothills.
Spectators were treated to skijoring competitions — where skiers are towed through the snow by powerful horses — weaving through obstacles and even launching off jumps as riders and skiers worked in tandem. The course buzzed with energy and excitement, showcasing the skill, speed, and daredevil courage that make skijoring a captivating sport.
Alongside the races, the atmosphere was pure Alberta: western wear, laughter, and shared good times in a lively outdoor setting. Members chatted over warm drinks, cheered on competitors, and enjoyed the chance to connect with one another away from the usual meeting room. It was a perfect blend of fellowship, fun, and local culture — a reminder of why we love getting together to enjoy community events.
Thanks to everyone who came out — it was a memorable day of Rotary fellowship! ❄️🤠🏇
