The Rotary Club of Calgary West held its Annual Golf Championship on September 24, 2025, at Wintergreen Golf Course. Ten Rotarians participated. Dan Doherty won Low Gross (90), and Steve Strang won Low Net (75). Following the game, members enjoyed a clubhouse meal where trophies were presented. Over the 2025 golf season, members played 13 rounds across 10 different courses, wrapping up another season of fun, fellowship, and friendly competition.

On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, members of the Rotary Club of Calgary West gathered at the scenic Wintergreen Golf Course for the Club’s annual Golf Championship. With three tee times—12:45 pm, 12:54 pm, and 1:03 pm—our golfers were eager to hit the fairways for an afternoon of friendly competition and fellowship.

This year’s lineup featured ten enthusiastic players: Mike Carlin, Gord Cox, Marlene Doherty, Dan Doherty, Terry Felton, Garfield Ganong, Malcolm Harrison, Bill Lawless, Rod McMahon, Bob Pearson, and Steve Strang.

The Championship was organized by Malcolm Harrison, with support from Bob Pearson, and trophies were awarded for both Low Gross and Low Net scores. Congratulations to Dan Doherty, who took home the Low Gross title with an impressive round of 90, and to Steve Strang, who claimed the Low Net title with a winning score of 75.

After the final putts dropped, the group gathered in the clubhouse to enjoy a hearty meal together. It was during this time of fellowship that the trophy presentation took place, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the afternoon.

The event capped off a vibrant season where the group managed to play 13 times at a variety of courses: Livingstone (twice), Fox Hollow, Wingfield, Collicut Siding, Brewsters, Trickle Creek (twice), Beaver Dam, Tooth of the Dog Pound, Carstairs, and Wintergreen (twice).

The tradition continues to strengthen bonds among Rotarians and proves once again that golf is as much about friendship as it is about the scorecard.
