Summary

Our seasonal fruit and produce fundraiser successfully raised approximately $900.00 for Club community initiatives while delivering 177 lbs of farm-fresh fruit—valued at $765.00—directly to the Calgary Food Bank. Led by Gord Cox and Terry Felton, the drive relied on community support and volunteer efforts from Drew Turnbull, Scott Sword, and Bob Pearson to process and distribute orders and deliver fresh fruit to the Calgary Foodbank.

Nourishing Calgary: Small Purchases, Big Community Impact

What started as a simple fruit and produce sale turned into a double win for the Calgary community. Thanks to the remarkable generosity of local supporters, our latest fundraising drive officially wrapped up with two incredible milestones: raising approximately $900.00 to support our Club’s community initiatives and delivering 177 lbs of farm-fresh fruit—valued at $765.00—directly to the Calgary Food Bank.

Fresh produce is often one of the most requested yet hardest-to-stock items for food hampers. By giving supporters the option to purchase extra produce for donation at checkout, every order helped ensure local families had access to sweet, wholesome, and nutritious food. The $900.00 raised stays right here at home, fueling our ongoing youth programs, local charity projects, and future community work.

On behalf of Terry Felton and myself (Gord Cox), a heartfelt thank you goes out to all of our buyers who supported the drive. We also extend a special thanks to our hard-working volunteers—Drew Turnbull, Scott Sword, and Bob Pearson—for their time and effort in making this fundraiser such a sweet success!
