Connecting with Community: RCCW Visits Bravely Connected Communities
Members of the Rotary Club of Calgary West recently visited Bravely Connected Communities in Calgary’s Ogden community, where they met with Connie Jakab to learn more about the organization, its work and the community it serves.
The visit provided an opportunity for an open and engaging discussion about the work being done at Bravely Connected Communities and the ways the Rotary Club of Calgary West might be able to offer support. Club members shared ideas and explored potential opportunities to contribute their time, skills and resources in ways that could be meaningful to the organization and the people it serves.
Bravely Connected Communities rents space from Mustard Seed’s Ogden Hub:29 Much More Than a Home, providing a setting for its programs and community-focused activities. The partnership reflects the importance of creating welcoming spaces where people can connect, participate and build stronger relationships within their community.
Following the discussion, Connie arranged a tour of Bravely Connected Communities for the Club members who attended. The tour provided an opportunity to see the space firsthand and gain a better understanding of how the organization operates and engages with the community.
The visit was a valuable opportunity for RCCW members to listen, learn and explore how Rotary can help make a difference locally. Conversations such as this are an important first step in developing meaningful community partnerships and finding practical ways to Create Hope in the World.
The Rotary Club of Calgary West thanks Connie Jakab for taking the time to meet with us, share her insights and provide the tour.
